Effective ways to learn english wordsYou've probably had this dilemma on your mind countless times. You've been studying English for a long time but still use the same and/or basic vocabulary. Now you'd love to make it much better, and more importantly use the new words you learn actively in real-life situations. Well, there's a way that can help you have both fun and largely improve the way you speak. 1) Learning any language is a skill that you have to keep improving and practising just like doing sports if you want to stay fit or brush your teeth if you want them to be healthy. With this in mind, it should be a well-established routine like taking a shower or having breakfast (yes!:) and there's no way around it to make it quicker. Don't kid yourself into believing you can learn a language in three months or one week. If this was that simple, nobody would be learning English now:) 2) Read aloud – anytime you come across a new word, read it aloud. Then, anytime you read something in English – read it aloud as this simple method will activate lots of your senses such as: vision (you see what you're reading), hearing (you hear yourself), movement (you're moving your lips, head and eyes while reading), which means that it's so much easier to become more fluent in speaking and remembering new words at a very low cost. It's a proven method that works miracles. 3) Use this vocabulary anywhere and with anybody you can, use it on messengers, whatsapp talking to your friends, use it in your English class or anytime you have a chance to speak English with someone – again it works like MAGIC! 4) Be realistic – don't learn more than ten words/expressions a day, it's already as many as 300 a month! Remember every 40-50 words you note down, prepare yourself a test (synonyms/ fill out the gaps exercise) of these words and do it a few days later. This is going to be hard evidence whether you remember or don't remember the words you'd come across before. 5) Read and listen a lot – read anything you like – magazines, news on Facebook, books and take notes on the vocabulary you like. Then listen and watch programs or series with subtitles, take some notes, and go through them as in steps 2 – 3 – 4. So to recap, try out all the tips I gave you and I guarantee you'll feel stunning progress in how much more articulate you are!
